Groundbreaking: Nation’s Largest Bird of Prey Campus

In the last two years there have been many eagle sightings right here in Morgan County, TN. The increased sightings we see locally at home are partly due to programs like the American Eagle Foundation that help these birds thrive and to keep them off the endangered list. The American Eagle Foundation, located in Pigeon Forge, broke ground on September 21, 2021 to build the nation’s largest bird of prey educational and rehabilitation campus. The American Eagle Foundation has released over 180 birds back into the Smokey Mountains. Dollywood’s Eagle Mountain Sanctuary is one other partner in helping the Nation’s symbol of strength and freedom to continue to thrive here through their American Bald Eagle program located at in their park.
