Morgan County Today Cover Photo Contest
Photographers are invited to submit photos for potential use as the cover photo of Morgan County Today. Submissions are invited in four categories:
- Landscape and scenic
- Historic buildings or sites
- Wildlife and birds
- Special events, including sports
The overall winning photo will appear as the full front cover of Morgan County Today for one week with attribution to the photographer. A winner will be selected in each category also. Contest winners will be selected by October 1, 2021 at noon and winning photo will appear on the front cover during the month of October 2021. The overall winner will have their photo featured as the cover photo of the Morgan County Today for one week and win $100 gift card. The category winners will receive a $25 gift card each.
Rules:
- All photos submitted must be taken in Morgan County, Tennessee.
- The contest is open to both professional and amateur photographers from any location.
- Photographs will be printed in portrait format sized 10 1/8 inches by 14 3/16 inches and must be submitted with an aspect ratio of 1:1.4.
- Photographs must be submitted in jpg format with a minimum resolution of 250 pixels per inch (2531 x 3547 pixels). Hint: The “enhance” feature in Lightroom may be used to double the resolution of a photograph.
- No watermarks should be placed on photos submitted to maintain flexibility in placement of text overlays by the newspaper.
- Category must be stated in the email.
- Photos should be submitted as an email attachment to publisher@mocotoday.com by September 24, 2021 at noon eastern time. The following text must be included in the body of the email: “ I grant permission to Morgan County Today to use this photo without restriction in its print and online editions, and in its social media postings.” The email should include a description of where the photo was taken, as well as the photographers name, postal and email addresses, and telephone number.
Previous cover photos may be viewed by looking at past electronic editions of the newspaper printed after July 1, 2021 on www.mocotoday.com. Note that earlier editions were not in the current format.
