Durham Seeks Indictment in Russia Probe
John Durham, who is prosecutor that was named to examine the origins of the Russia collusion investigation, is close to seeking an indictment from the grand against Michael Sussmann, a lawyer with ties to the Democratic Party, for lying to the FBI.
Durham is focused on Sussmann’s conversation on 9-19-2016 with an employee of the FBI about a connection with a Russian backed bank and servers at Trump’s Organization according to Fox News.
The reason for the timing of the potential indictment is the 5 year statue of limitation.
Lawyers for Sussmann, a partner at Perkins Coie, a law firm that has represented the Democratic National Committee, told Fox News that he is a “highly respected national security and cyber security lawyer” who “served in the Justice Department during both Republican and Democrat administrations.”
